Local Campaigners (l-r) Cllr Tony Phillips, Chris Ward, & Steve Freeman

Freshers at the University of Surrey are the first year to be burdened by the government’s £3000 a year top-up fees. Your Liberal Democrat representatives have consistently opposed tuition fees, campaigning for education based on your brains, not your bank balance.

Guildford’s Tory MP said she opposed fees before the general election, yet now she refuses to oppose them. Students at Surrey have been cheated by the opportunism of the Conservatives.

Lib Dem campaigners Councillor Tony Phillips, Steve Freeman, and Chris Ward took to the streets of London in October in protest against fees, making sure that the £3000 cap is not removed by Labour or the Tories.

A Lib Dem vote is a vote against fees.
